One of our favourite artists, Felipe Pantone, has been working on some (literally) big things over in Europe. And it’s a digital masterpiece, to say the least.
Last month, Pantone travelled to Paris in order to take part in Palais De Tokyo‘s Lasco Project, a collaborative project celebrating street and graffiti artists, curated by Hugo Vitrani. Pantone’s instalment followed the large-scale street art pieces by artists Stelios Faitakis, Olivier Kosta-Théfaine, Philippe Baudelocque, JR, and Os Gemeos. For his own piece, Pantone utilised a Parisian tunnel next to a highway; the A86 Duplex between Rueil-Malmaison in Vélizy to be exact. The Argentinian, alongside his team, covered a total of 4,000 square meters of tunnel’s concrete.
Usually restricted to the general public, the exhibition was opened on May 22, allowing art-goers to lavish in the pixelated visuals and cyber-space architecture. The internet aesthetic is real.
What’s next for Pantone? He’s in London preparing his own solo show with StolenSpace. For now, check out Pantone’s cyber-tunnel reality for the Lasco Project in the gallery above.
